Cool Tools Part 1

The internet is full of great (and free) tools and aps that may help your day go better.  Here are our latest finds.  (And, if you have any you want to share, send them our way.)

Calendly.  Appointment scheduling software.  Tired of sending multiple emails to set up meetings? This ap integrates with your Google or Office calendar and lets people schedule meetings with you when you are free, within the parameters you set up.   You can establish frequency and buffering requirements and block off busy times.  And, you can include the Calendly link in emails or on your website.

Google Versus…  Competitor identifier.  If you type in a product name to your Google search bar and then the word “versus,” the Google search engine will supply the competitor for you.  For example, typing in “Coke versus” will give you the results “Pepsi,” “Sprite,” and even “coal.”  Try it with common phrases “fundraising versus” or “strategy versus” for ideas or even clarification on verbiage.

Mentimeter.  For live presentations, this site allows you to perform real-time audience polls and quizzes and displays the results instantaneously.  The word-cloud feature is a fun and unique way to grab and keep a group’s attention.

Canva.  Graphic design platform.  It takes a minute to get the hang of Canva’s design tool, but with it you can create fliers, notecards, graphics, posters, pamphlets, and social media fodder.  Tons of templates or design your own.
